I want to write you all an open letter,
but in the form of a prose poem. This will be a mindfulness exploration, a long drift into a woods where, had we not turned around, we wouldn't know we were being followed.
And a voice from behind us will ask us,
If they can hypnotize us. The moments of stress are becoming hazy, and the bliss of no thoughts can begin to settle in, but-
Can they hypnotize us? They are asking with an offering that sounds nice, how could we refuse? It seems perfect, sounds good, and instead of saying yes, you want instead to turn around
And go back out, to where you were before the exploration into the woods.
And so you do.
But is it any the better to be tangled in the weeds and thick brush of the hidden pathway's entrance?
Was it satisfying enough to sit frozen in the heart of the darkness?
Ah, so out to the light you are trying to run.
But the light is able to replicate inside of dark buildings underneath of pitch black tunnels, isn't it so?
How can you know the light from the sun, on the outside of the woods, is any brighter than the one underneath the trees?
The one in your home?
The one in your mind?
